What it is like to carry
This is the bag for the days when the tote is more than you need. It sits close to the body, the weight stays off one shoulder, and there is room for the things you actually reach for rather than the things you might.
The strap does most of the talking. It is wide, woven, and patterned in brown and tan — a deliberate contrast against the plain leather body, and the detail that stops the bag looking anonymous. If you would prefer something quieter, the Harlowe Satchel is the plainer piece in the range.
The hide itself is noticeably soft in the hand. It creases where it folds and relaxes into the way you wear it, which is what soft cowhide does over time.
Who it is for
For someone who owns a bag for work and wants a second one for everything else — the errand, the evening, the weekend — without stepping down to synthetic. Someone who would rather have a small bag in real leather than a large one in something coated, and who likes a strap with some character to it.
Care
Wipe the leather with a dry, soft cloth. Let it dry naturally if it gets wet, away from direct heat. A neutral leather conditioner two or three times a year keeps the hide supple. The woven strap can be spot-cleaned with a damp cloth and mild soap; do not soak it. Avoid solvents and machine washing.

Is this real leather?
The body is genuine cowhide. The strap is woven textile with leather fittings — we would rather set that out than let the photographs imply otherwise.
What fits inside?
The bag measures 27 × 10 × 20 cm. That comfortably takes a phone, a card holder, keys and a small pouch. It is not sized for a laptop or a folder — for those, see the Commuter Tote or the Hobo Tote.
Can the strap be changed?
It attaches with metal clips at both ends, so it can be unclipped. We do not sell a replacement strap at the moment, so please choose on the basis of the strap shown in the photographs.
Will the colour match the photographs?
Close, but not exactly. Screens vary and leather takes dye unevenly by nature, so expect a slight difference from the images.
What if it is not right for me?
