A place for everything you carry.
Let's deal with the obvious part first: this brand should probably belong to a woman. I'm a man.
I got here by the least romantic route there is. I spend my working days surrounded by women, and after a while I noticed the same conversation kept coming round. Not about shoes. Not about clothes. About handbags.
They complained about the design. They complained about the quality. But most often, and most heatedly, they complained about the inside.
"It's one big hole."
"I can never find my keys."
"I bought it for how it looks and it annoys me every time I open it."
At first I smiled and nodded. Around the twentieth time, I looked properly and realised it wasn't a preference. It was a real fault, repeated across the whole industry.
Open ten handbags from ten different shops at ten different prices. Inside you will find the same thing: one large empty space, and perhaps a thin pocket stitched to one side. That is all.
And it makes sense. A bag sells from a photograph, and the photograph shows the outside. Nobody photographs the interior, so nobody pays for it, so nobody gives it any thought.
I started from the other end.
What That Means in Practice
I choose bags backwards compared with everyone else. I open them first. If the inside is a hole, I move on, however good it looks from the outside.
I look for pockets that hold their shape. A zipped compartment for the things you would rather keep closed. Separate places for a phone, keys and a card. Straps wide enough to sit on the shoulder without cutting. And real leather, named by name — not "genuine leather" dropped into a description because it sounds reassuring.
Then there is the part almost nobody bothers with: a solution for the bags you already own. Our pressed felt organiser comes in four sizes and sits inside many of the bags you carry now, giving them the interior they never had. Lift it out of one bag, drop it into another, and everything you carry moves with it.
That is the whole brand, really. One idea, followed all the way: a bag is judged from the inside.
What I Promise
I will not claim these are the most beautiful handbags on the market. Beauty is a matter of taste, and I am not going to argue with anyone about it.
I promise something else, and it is something I can keep: every product page states exactly what the bag is made of and what it measures. Where an interior is unlined, we say so. Where a component is felt rather than leather, we say that too — even though felt sounds cheaper.
I would rather lose a sale to an honest description than win one I have to explain two weeks later.
Our Vision
A wardrobe where the bag you reach for is the one you bought five years ago — softened, marked, and still holding its shape. We design for that year, not for the first photograph.
What We Believe
- Honesty about materials — we describe what the leather is, not dress it up in adjectives.
- Function before form — if a pocket breaks the line, the pocket stays.
- Built to last — chosen for the fifth year of wear, not the first photo.
- No inflated claims — we describe, we don't promise.
