Colour varies slightly between screens, and leather takes dye unevenly by nature, so expect a small difference from the photographs. What it is like to carry
This is a bag with its working parts visible. The interior is raw hide rather than a printed lining, and the edges are left unpainted, so you can see the fibre of the leather where it is cut. It is not a finish that hides anything.
Carried daily, the surface darkens where your hand meets the handle and softens where the bag folds. The colour is not perfectly even to begin with and becomes less even with use. On full-grain hide, that is the material behaving as it should.
Who it is for
For someone who leaves in the morning with a laptop, a bottle of water, a notebook and everything else the day needs, and would rather carry one bag than three. Someone who has owned a coated bag that cracked, and would rather buy leather that ages than leather that peels — and who is not put off by an interior that looks like the inside of a hide.
Care
Wipe with a dry, soft cloth. Let the leather dry naturally if it gets wet, away from direct heat. A neutral leather conditioner two or three times a year keeps the hide supple. Avoid soaking, solvents and machine washing. Store loosely stuffed so the shape holds.

Is this real leather?
Yes — genuine full-grain cowhide. Where any part of a Maison Harlowe product is not leather, we say so on its page.
Why is the inside unfinished?
The interior is raw leather backing rather than a fabric lining, and the opening and handles are left without edge paint. It is a deliberate part of this bag's construction. If you would prefer a lined, finished interior, the Harlowe Satchel and the Harlowe Hobo Tote both have fabric linings and three interior pockets.
Will the colour match the photographs?
Close, but not exactly. Screens vary, and full-grain hide varies naturally from piece to piece — the colour is not uniform even within one bag. Expect a slight difference from the images.
How long will delivery take?
